Noom Friends lets you build two-sided connections in the Noom app.
You can:
- Connect with people already on Noom, or
- Invite friends who aren’t on Noom yet — once they join using your link, you’ll automatically be connected.
FAQs
Why should I connect with friends?
Working toward health goals can feel easier (and more fun!) when you’re not doing it alone. Many people stay more consistent when they:
- Share progress with others
- Celebrate wins together
- Receive encouragement during tough moments
How do I connect with friends?
There are two ways to connect: with an invite link, or through your contacts.
1. Using an invite link
To invite someone, share your unique link:
- Go to the Today tab > Stay on track together OR Settings > Friends
- Tap “Add Friend”
- Choose how to share it (SMS, iMessage, etc.)
To accept an invite, just open the link a friend sends you.
Either way, once the link is opened, you’ll be connected automatically.
2. Through your contacts
Share access to your contacts and Noom will show you which of them are already on Noom, so you can send them a friend request in the app. Contacts who aren’t on Noom yet can be invited by text.
And if someone who has your phone number saved finds you this way, you’ll get an in-app friend request you can accept or decline.
Note: Some Noom programs don’t currently support the Friends feature. If you or your friend see an error message, this may be the reason.
How do I control who can find me?
If you add and verify your phone number, friends who have your number saved can find you and send you a friend request. You can turn this off anytime in Settings > Friends Settings. Turning it off won’t affect friends you’ve already connected with.
How does Noom use my contacts?
With your permission, Noom stores your contacts to help you find friends who are already on Noom. Your contacts are never shared with other members. To stop this and delete your imported contacts, turn off the contacts setting in Settings > Friends Settings. This won’t remove any friends you’ve already connected with.
How do I remove a friend?
If you no longer want someone in your friend list, you can remove them at any time.
- Open the Noom app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner.
- Go to Settings > Friends to view your current list.
- Find the friend you want to remove and tap the person icon with a minus sign next to their name.
- Confirm removal. Once confirmed, they will no longer appear on your friend list.
